Many believed storage capacities for solid state drives (SSD) have reached its theoretical threshold due to its limited design considerations. With the introduction of M.2 and PCIe connections, such challenges are no longer an issue. Transcend is the latest to prove this notion with the release of its own 1TB M.2 SSD.

Made for ultra-thin computing devices, like Ultrabooks, tablet computers and notebooks, 2-in-1 systems, and hyper-slim all-in-one PCs, the Transcend MTS800 1TB M.2 SSD is the latest to come out of the the storage maker’s manufacturing line to sport enhanced protective features. This includes Global Wear-levelling, Advanced Garbage Collection, Device Sleep Mode, Error Correction Code (ECC), and enhanced SSD health monitoring services.

Of course, being a newly released storage platform, the Transcend MTS800 1TB M.2 SSD would use next-gen SATA III transfer links that ensure sequential read/write performance speeds of up to 560MB/s and 460MB/s respectively. The ECC and storage health monitor will make sure the new Transcend 1TB storage system will always operate at optimum performance and, with the help of other innovations like Wear-levelling and Intelligent Block Management, passively protect data integrity and the overall operational lifespan of the device.

To further push its performance efficiency, Transcend has also embedded the latest Intel Smart Response Technology within the new Transcend MTS800 1TB M.2 SSD. This allows the SSD to operate a cache between itself and the PC that allows it to memorise frequently accessed apps and files, enabling faster response cues and freeing up more storage capacity within the drive that can be used.

This new M.2 SSD, and its smaller sized companions – 32GB to 512GB, are now available for purchase at all major IT retailers with a going price of RM1,999 (GST inclusive).
